WEMIHS OVC Interventions are:
WEMIHS has adopted a model of comprehensive care and support integrated with core programs provided by sustainable systems of services delivery as indicated in the interventions below
- Capacity building training of key service providers on delivery of integrated psychosocial care and support services e.g.; integrated with pediatric ART programs and learning in Primary schools and ECD programs
- Comprehensive psychosocial care and support services for HIV+ children. (To include; ART adherence education and home based support, loss and grief counseling and management of children therapy groups)
- Comprehensive Early Childhood Development Initiatives (CECDI) targeting children in marginalized communities for equitable access to essential services and opportunities
- Delivery of psychosocial OVC care and support services through integration with free primary education systems
- Improving capacity of aged care providers to care - Strengthening Grandmothers’ Resilience and Nurturing Initiative (GRANI) through sustainable livelihood approaches, counseling and linkages to services
- Networking and advocacy for policy implementation in support of child protection and other rights.
- Empowering community support structures (e.g. CBO, FBOs, CHW) to adopt empowering and sustainable OVC care interventions
