History
Started in 1998 by three Kenyan women committed to working with communities and health providers respond to critical health and development concerns in their community

WEMIHS adopts a holistic and empowering capacity building approaches to strengthen institutions and community structures that serve populations most affected by poverty and disease in order for them to effectively respond to health and development concerns.

WEMIHS Implementation Management
WEMIHS program is implemented by a team of competent and well trained technical staff that present a range of complementary skills mix to include; policy based programming, community empowerment for transformation, management of comprehensive care and support programs for OVC with particular focus on; HIV positive children, ECD, adolescent girls and guardians; HIV counseling and testing, PMTCT, curriculum development and participatory training, sustainable livelihood interventions for ultra poor to include; access to revolving funds, production promotion, value addition, cooperatives and linkage to reliable markets, right based and gender mainstreaming to programs, financial and administrative management for multi-year donor funded programs.
WEMIHS has a well-placed advisory board and good collaboration with various stakeholders at National and District level. The organization continues to enjoy both grass root and national level support from; Government departments, Private sector and civil society networks. WEMIHS optimizes on her good relationships to bring synergy in designing and implementation of high impact and sustainable programs
